my 3-hour vacation
Today, after doing the vet volunteering, I went to the beach. It was my first visit to the beach this summer (yeah, I know, I used to live 2 blocks from it and never managed to get there this summer and now that I am miles away…). It was amazing. It was relaxing. The water was as warm as a bathtub and the waves today were pretty much “what waves. Read More »

A good day
First and foremost of goodness that happened today was seeing my fertility specialist and getting the prescription for the ministry-approved meds. U.S. housing market and my bad timing
Gotta hand it to my bro and I, we both have the absolute worst timing when it comes to all things economic. So here we are both needing to sell our houses in the U.S. at a time when housing sales have hit a 15-year low. Sales of existing homes dropped 27% in July. Read More »
Dude, Beirut is on fire: Hezbollah attacking Lebanon!
Things go along in relative quiet in this region for oh, a nanosecond. Just clicked over to the news and it seems that Hezbollah and the Sunni militant groups are going at it in the center of Beirut. Rockets are being launched, buildings are on fire, and they are shooting at each other with automatic weapons. Read More »

old apartment looking so good I’d rent it
The painters have painted and they did a fantastic and careful job. It was totally worth the 1,000 sheks I offered them to do it. They even cleaned up afterwards meticulously. They painted the walls but not the door and window frames because the apartment is old and to put tape on the wall, as you’d need to do, would pull off layers of paint. Read More »
